David "Big Papi" Ortiz

With the Giants Quickly falling out of playoff contension in a very weak National league west division something had to be done. Today GM Foley pulled the trigger that has been aparently in the works for several days as the "Big Papi" will be joining the Giants lineup. Not since the Great Barry bonds has a power hitter of David Otiz's stature grazed the Giants lineup and he is expected to play on 1B and hit in the #4 spot for the Giants. Going the other way will be AA minor league prospects Mike Mooney(AA) Rafael Rodriguez (AA). Both of these players have shown signs of developing into major leaguers but if the Giants have any hope at getting back into the race then a big bat was going to be needed. Other needs for the Giants include a top pitching ace and a CL. As for the pitching ace the Giants will have to go after a big name in trade but it is suspected that for there closer they will look in system and perhaps premote one of there top MR to the CL role.

League To Start - Saturday 15 April @ 10 pm Est

(League Offices) - The OTWB is almost ready to go, with final line ups due by 6pm Est on Saturday, April 15th. With League Commissioner getting ready to move and heading soon overseas, Commish Sprackman dcided to run one more season, atleast, before the move.
Many new faces have joined the league and right now only 2 teams are open, being the Philly team and Arizona team. Commish is very happy with the activity in the league and hopefully this is the best season yet. It will be very interesting to see if the AL can win the World Series for the 4th straight year and if Baltimore can repeat as Champions.

I hope all will soon join the blog and begin blogging for the league. You will get money added, if I find the blog worthy. I am not adding any cash to my team for blogs so don't worry about that. Lets get started and I hope all enjoy the league.
